Temporary Expert Assignment
Temporary Expert Assignment
Temporary expert assignments, a new tool of the Czech development cooperation has been in place since 1st January 2015. It corresponds to the increased demand for experts with transitional experience and it is also included in the plan of the Czech bilateral ODA.
The aim is sharing Czech experience and knowledge from the transitional period (meaning the transfer from centrally planned economy to the market economy in the democratic environment). This transition experience is understood as a comparative advantage and specific experience in different sectors of economy and public administration (judiciary, privatization, tax system changes, market economy, decentralization, ecological damage remedy etc.) which can be transferred to the partner countries, especially to those undergoing a similar socio-political development.
In 2017, the Czech Development Agency posted experts to a total of eight countries: Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Serbia and Ukraine. In 2017, a total of 4.8 million CZK was drawn for projects under this programme, equivalent to 96% of the original plan. A total of 13 projects were implemented.
