General Environmental Protection
General Environmental Protection
The activities within the general environmental protection sector focused mainly on the issue of building local state administration capacities: in Georgia with protected area management and the implementation of European legislation governing serious accident prevention; and in Mongolia with the treatment of old environmental burden.
The Government of the Czech Republic approved CZK 9 million for the environment sector in 2017. A total of CZK 9.8 million was drawn down for these projects.
With its activities in this sector, the Czech Republic contributed to the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goal No. 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
