The main aims of the Czech Development Agency include reducing poverty, improving quality of life and supporting sustainable development.


The Agency contributes to fulfilling its aims through its activities. It is responsible for identification, formulation, financing and monitoring of bilateral projects of development cooperation between the Czech Republic and other countries. Among its other activities are projects under the specific programmes of the Czech Development Agency, trilateral projects co-financed by other donors and local projects focused on raising awareness about development cooperation and capacity building of Czech entities.

The Development Cooperation Strategy of the Czech Republic 2018–2030 sets out six priority partner countries. From 2014 the Czech development cooperation includes also Ukraine in the form of emergency aid. The Agency is present in other countries through projects from previous years and some horizontal programmes.
