Disaster Prevention and Preparedness
Disaster Prevention and Preparedness
The activities within the sector of disaster prevention and preparedness concentrated in particular on issues related to landslide and erosion protection and increasing the safety of key road corridors. These projects help protect human lives and property. However, they also create conditions for better quality of life for the populations living in the target areas, which results in economic growth and improvement in the living standard of the inhabitants.
The Government of the Czech Republic approved CZK 3.5 million in 2017 for this sector. The actual amount drawn down last year was more than CZK 2 million, i.e. approximately 59% of the original plan, whereas activities in this sector were mostly focused on Georgia.
With its activities in this sector, the Czech Republic contributed to the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goal No. 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.
