Health
Health
Projects in the health sector were directed to preventing child malnutrition and reducing child and mother mortality in less developed countries such as Ethiopia, Zambia, and Cambodia. In other partner countries – such as Georgia – Czech aid focused on prevention, the early diagnosis and treatment of cancer, setting primary healthcare standards and, last but not least, training local medical staff.
In 2017, based on the approved Government Resolution, a total of CZK 34 million was allocated to the health sector, and more than 77% was drawn down. The main recipient countries included Georgia, Ethiopia, Cambodia, and Zambia.
This area includes efforts to fulfil Sustainable Development Goal No. 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
