The project aims to improve the health status of the target communities and prevent infectious diseases. Improvements to hygiene and sanitation practices will be facilitated by People in Need (PIN) through a system-strengthening approach, in which existing institutions such as schools and the health extension framework lead behavioural change in their communities. Key messages will focus on handwashing, improved latrine use and will also promote the protection of young child from E-coli infections through piloting an innovation in the new sector of nutrition-sensitive WASH.
